What is NCC?

NCC stands for National Cadet Corps. NCC is the Indian military cadet corps wing of the Indian armed forces.NCC offers training to the students of schools and colleges. This is not compulsory training for all students. The duration of this training program is 3 years. During the training of NCC, candidates get the basic military training. This training is conducted to develop the interest of young students in all three forces; the army, the navy and the air force of India. NCC offers the platform to the students so that they could check their abilities to join the Indian Defence Services. That’s why one of the benefits of the NCC certificate is that the candidate gets some relaxation during army selection.

How to Join NCC?

Any Indian student either girl or boy can join NCC. Prashanti group offers Senior Wing to the college students.

Senior Wing: To join NCC the candidate needs to contact the ANO or NCC Officer of prashanti group. The candidate’s age should be up to 18 - 24 years. The enrolment period for this training is 3 years (B and C certificate). The enrollment generally takes place once a year in month of August – September. It involves Physical and written exam (General Ability).The NCC authorities also want the youngster to be a part of this organization.

NCC C Certificate Benefits

  1. 5 to 10 percent bonus marks awarded for recruitment as ORs, Sailors, Airmen.
  2. 2 to 10 bonus marks awarded for recruitment in Para Military Forces.
  3. Department of telecommunication awards Bonus marks in recruitment.
  4. In CRPF NCC cadets holding 3rd division degree are eligible for recruitment to gazette posts.
  5. State Govts: Preference for State Services in certain States.
  6. Industry: Some industries give preference to NCC C certificate holders for various jobs related with the field of security.
  7. IMA – 13-15 vacancies reserved for ‘C’ Certificate (Army Wing) holders
  8. OTA Chennai – 50 vacancies for ‘C’ certificate holders for NCC Spl. Entry (non tech)
